Elasticsearch Migration
Note: Migration of Elasticsearch can only be carried out by an Administrator as part of Installation of Reviewer.
Note: During migration, reviewer services will be disabled. Depending upon how much data needs migrating it may take a few hours.
Note: Due to the length of time and the demand on system resources required, it is advisable to perform this migration at periods of low activity (overnight or at weekends, for example).
Automatic Migration
The migration process starts automatically when the Installer for the new version of Reviewer is run. If there is sufficient disk space, then the migration runs without requiring any user intervention.
- The percentage completion of the Migration is shown in the footer of the Review page.
- Whilst the migration is running, the detail of progress is shown in the Migration tab:
- When the automatic migration is complete, the following page is displayed:
- Once a file has been migrated (shown by the Delete button being active), you can delete it by pressing Delete.
- You can also uninstall Elastic search version 5 by clicking the Uninstall button.
Manual Migration
If there is not enough space, then you need to decide what data is to be migrated and what is to be deleted from the database.
The Event log will show the following when there is insufficient space:
For each data file, you can choose whether to delete it, or migrate it.
Note: Deleting data from the database does not remove the UHH files, these files can be restored from the Archive, if required at a future point.
To manually migrate/delete data:
- In the Migration tab, the following is displayed:
- To delete a particular data file, click Delete in the appropriate cell in the Action column.
- To migrate a particular data file, click Start migration in the appropriate cell in the Action column. The 'Migration is running' message is displayed:
- Once all data has been migrated from version 5 to version 7, click Uninstall ES5. This action requires you to enter a password and will remove Elasticsearch 5:
