How do I unzip a file onto a USB-C flash drive?

When an upgrade is available for your EPM device you must unzip the upgrade file onto a USB-C flash drive.

To unzip a file to a USB-C flash drive:

  1. From a computer with access to the file , insert a USB-C flash drive that is checked and clear of malicious software.

  2. Locate and right click on the zipped folder required and select Extract All.

  3. The Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders screen displays, from Files will be extracted to this folder, navigate to your USB-C flash drive:

  4. Select Extract.

The following files unzip to the selected flash drive and can now be used to update your device:

Note - In order to run an upgrade the eng_upgrade_start.txt must be present on the USB-C flash drive. This file deletes after every upgrade. If you wish to perform the same upgrade on an additional device, you need to recreate it. To do this, insert the USB C flash drive into a computer, navigate to the flash drive and double click on the gen_upgrade_file.bat file. See Upgrading EPM Data Management for details.
