Cybersecurity during Operation and Maintenance

As part of ongoing operation and maintenance, you should apply cybersecurity best practices appropriate to industrial environments.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Maintaining secure default configurations.

  • Regularly reviewing user accounts and access rights.

  • Applying updates and security patches in a controlled manner.

  • Following documented change control procedures to minimize operational risk.

  • Following backup and restore processes as part of regular configuration management should be maintained throughout the device lifecycle.

  • A security and operational impact assessment, in line with site policies and risk management practices, should be completed before any changes to system configuration, connectivity or operating environment.
