Product Data Transparency Statement

Overview

This device operates locally within your site or network. It does not automatically transmit personal data outside your network or to Watlow.

This statement is provided to support you in meeting your own data protection and regulatory obligations. It describes the types of data that the device may store and clarifies the responsibilities of both the user and Watlow with respect to that data.

What Data May Be Stored on the Device

Depending on how the device is configured, it may store the following types of data locally on the device, or at remote locations as per the archive settings:

  • Usernames and user IDs

  • Optional user email addresses

  • Hashed authentication credentials, stored in accordance with device security controls

  • Audit logs recording user activity, including operator identifiers and timestamps

  • Configuration information entered by site personnel

Who Controls This Data

All data stored on the device is controlled and managed by the customer operating the equipment. Watlow does not act as a data controller or data processor with respect to data stored on the device.

The system owner is responsible for:

  • Managing user accounts and access credentials

  • Assigning and maintaining access permissions

  • Retaining, archiving or deleting logs in accordance with site and industry policies

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable data protection regulations within their environment

Does Watlow Access This Data?

No. Watlow does not access, monitor or collect data stored on the device during normal operation.

Data is only shared with Watlow if a customer voluntarily provides information for technical support or troubleshooting purposes, for example, sending diagnostic exports or log files to Watlow Technical Support. Any data shared with Watlow for support purposes is handled in accordance with Watlow’s corporate privacy policy.

Scope

This statement applies to EPM Data Management running firmware version v1.0 and later. It does not apply to other Watlow products or services, which may have separate data handling disclosures.

Decommissioning

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all personal data is removed from the device as part of their standard decommissioning process.
