Criteria for a Valid Value

  • Good Status - A Process Variable (PV) must have a status indicating it is "good." This means the value is current, reliable, and not flagged as erroneous or invalid by the system.

  • Bad Status - An input with invalid conditions such as sensor issues, out-of-range values or communication disruptions is considered to have “bad status” and is excluded from calculations.

  • Active and Connected - A channel must actively provide a process value. A disconnected or inactive channel is not considered valid.
