Replacing your Human Machine Interface (HMI) Display Panel
Replacing or hot-swapping the HMI display panel allows maintenance with minimal system downtime, ensuring the EPM device remains operational without disrupting normal activities. After a replacement or hot-swap, the device is automatically configured and restored.
Both hot-swapping and replacing can be performed on the HMI when the device is powered on or off.
To hot-swap or replace a HMI display:

Enter the enclosure and position yourself to access the rear of the device. Ensure the area is well-lit and unobstructed.

Carefully inspect the rear of the device to locate the fasteners securing the display. There are four HMI fasteners for EPM-07 and eight for EPM-15. Unscrew the fasteners using a Phillips 2 M5x16 mm screwdriver bit:
Note - The screws are non‑captive, so the display panel remains partially hooked after loosening. Assistance from another person is recommended for removing the device from the front or outside of the panel. -
From the outside of the enclosure, gently remove the display panel by pulling it outward at a right angle to the enclosure panel to which it is attached.

Ensure the rest of the device remains securely attached to the front fascia of the enclosure.

To install the new display panel, clean and smooth the enclosure cutout and surrounding surface to avoid rough edges that could damage the device. Position the device in place and secure it by screwing the fasteners back into the enclosure from the inside.
Note - After pushing the new display panel into place from outside the enclosure, it stays hooked, allowing you to easily tighten its screws from inside the enclosure without holding it in place. When inserting the first screw, avoid applying excessive force before it engages with the thread.-
It is recommended to insert all screws securing the display panel first before applying the final torque. Tighten the screws progressively in a star pattern until reaching the maximum recommended torque value of 1 Nm (0.74 lb-ft). Repeat this process until no screw turns further and the recommended torque value is achieved.

To avoid cross-threading the new display panel, ensure the screws turn easily with minimal torque for the first 8 or 9 turns. The screw head should be nearly touching the base of the device by then.

Re-tighten the fastener securing the device to a torque
Torque - Torque is a twisting force that makes something turn or rotate. When you push on a door far from the hinges, it’s easier to open. That turning effect is torque. Torque depends on how hard you push (force) and how far from the pivot you push (distance from the hinge/axis).
Formula in words:
Torque = force × perpendicular distance from the pivot. value of 1 Nm (0.74 lb-ft). Tighten it progressively in a star pattern until reaching the maximum recommended torque. Repeat this process until no screw turns further.

Verify that the new display panel is functioning properly.
