Configuring Archive Servers

The Archive Servers defines where and how recorded data is transferred from the device for long‑term storage. Server 1 is used for a local media destination such as USB device while Server 2 is used for a network destination using File transfer protocol (FTP) File Transfer Protocol (FTP) - A protocol for transferring files between a client and a server over a network. or Secured File transfer protocol (SFTP) Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) - A file transfer protocol built on SSH (Secure Shell). or Hypertext transfer protocol (HTTPS) Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure(HTTPS) - It is the secure version of HTTP, the primary protocol used to send data between a web browser and a website..

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access Settings permission. To update settings you need the Can edit Settings permission. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

Note - USB C cables and sockets are suitable for short term connections only, they should not be used for permanent connections.

To Add Archive Server:

From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Settings and Users - Settings:
The Settings screen displays, select Archive Servers which then displays on the right-hand side of the screen:
If you are not already in Configuration lock, the Configuration lock screen displays:

Enter a reason if required and then select Confirm . The system configuration is now locked pending the submission of your update and the Configuration Locked icon displays on the status bar.

Note - Configuration lock does not affect the operation of the EPM device.

Select Add server to add a new server:
The Add Server screen appears. Edit the Descriptor and name your server as required and select Add Server :

Tip - You can select cancel or select to close the tab.

Server 1 is set to Archive to Local media using USB Connector C2, cannot be updated:
Add Server 2, set to Network Destination, cannot be updated:

Complete as required:
- Network Server IP Address - Add the IP address or the DHCP/host name of the destination server the device will archive to.
- Network Server File Path - Add the valid path to archive directory for each configured host.
- Network Server Username - Add the login name used to authenticate Server 2 to the remote FTP/SFTP server.
- Network Server Password - Add the password for that remote server account. The password is masked.
- Network Protocol Selection - Add which protocol Server 2 will use to connect to the destination from the available list.
- Network Port Selection - Add the TCP port number used for the remote connection, defaults to 0.
- SFTP Key for Network Archiving - Add the key from the device’s Key Management public keys, identified by its descriptor, and it is used to establish the secure SFTP connection to the remote server. See Configuring Key Management for further details.
Note - You can add up to 3 archive servers.
Select Archive Scheduling to schedule an archive:

Complete as required from the available list:

Clock Source - Defaults to Local Time, select from the available list to choose the time reference.
Month - Defaults to Every, select the required month.
Day- Defaults to Every, select the required day.
Hour - Defaults to Every, select the required hour.

Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
