Resetting a Password for a User from the EPM Data User Interface

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access user managementpermissions. You can only add or update passwords if you have the Can change all passwords or Can change own password permission depending on the task you are carrying out. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

If a user has forgotten their password, or for security reasons you need to change their password, you can reset it on their behalf.

To reset the password for a local user:

  1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Settings and Users - Users:

  2. Your list of users displays, select the user required.

    Tip - You can use either Search or the available Filters to find the user if required.
  3. Select the user and the Edit user pane displays to the right of your screen, use the scroll bar to move down through the screen:

  4. From Reset password manually, select Reset .

  5. The Confirm your identity screen displays:

    Enter your password and select Confirm .

  6. The Reset password screen displays, complete as follows:

    • Create temporary password - Enter a new password for your user.

    • Confirm password - Enter the new password again to confirm.

      Tip - The new password must match your system policies, see Configuring Security Policies for details if required.
  7. Select Reset password .

Tip - Inform the user of their new password and where it is not enforced, recommend that they change it immediately for security purposes.
