Maths

A Maths channel performs mathematical operations on a set of input values. Input values can come from hardwired inputs, comms inputs, the outputs of another channels, or be manually entered. Each Maths channel uses a specific maths type such as Add, Average or Polynomial that defines how the channel processes its inputs.

Tip - Depending on the math type selected, some input values can be scaled using a scaler parameter (multiplying factor).

Within EPM Data Management up to 128 math channels can be configured.

The following math types are available:

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access Maths permission. To add, update or delete a Maths channel, you must also have the Can configure permission. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.
Note - By default, channels/functions do not generate .uhh history records. Process values are written to .uhh only when the channel/function is included in a Group. Channel configuration and any non-volatile (NVOL) data are stored in the device’s on-board memory and persist across power cycles, independently of UHH history data.
