Configuring an Absolute Value Maths Channel

An Absolute Value Maths channel outputs the absolute (unsigned) value of an input, for example, input readings of 3.76 or -3.76 both generate the same output of 3.76. To access, add and configure an Absolute Value Maths channel:

Note - The output retains the same unit as the Input Value. However, when you change the Unit in Chart and presentation settings, only the displayed Unit changes, the Absolute Value calculation itself is unaffected.
Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access Maths permission. To add, update or delete a Maths channel, you must also have the Can configure permission. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Functions - Maths:

Select from the following options to expand the details:

Tip - Select Add Alarm to configure an alarm on this channel, see Configuring an Alarm for further details.

Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
