Configuring a Rolling Average Maths Channel

A Rolling Average Maths channel outputs the average (arithmetic mean) value of an input over a specified number of samples taken at a specified interval.

For example, if the Number of Samples = 3 and Sample Interval = 10 seconds, a sample is taken and the rolling average is calculated every 10 seconds using the most recent 3 readings.

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access Maths permission. To add, update or delete a Maths channel, you must also have the Can configure permission. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

To access, add and configure a Rolling Average Maths channel:

From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Functions - Maths:

Select from the following options to expand the details:

Tip - Select Add Alarm to configure an alarm on this channel, see Configuring an Alarm for further details.

Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
