Totalizers

A totalizer channel allows the running total for any input or math channel to be recorded.

Within EPM Data Management up to 128 totalizer channels can be configured.

Note - The output value of a totalizer is defined as non-volatile (NVOL) data and is saved to the EPM device on-board memory, this ensures it is not lost during a loss of power.
Tip - It is possible to totalize multiple input channels, by combining them in a Math channel, see Adding a Maths Channel for details.

The totalizer equation is tott= tott-1+(mat/(TUxSF)).

where:

  • tott = totalizer value this sample

  • tott-1 = totalizer value last sample

  • mat= value of totalized channel this sample

    Note - Time between samples = Recording interval set in Group configuration, see Configuring Groups Settings for details.

  • TU = Time Unit

  • SF = Scaling Factor

Totalizers are commonly used to record flow rates.
