Exporting a Modbus Address Map

The Export Address Map option creates a delimited text (CSV) file of the Modbus register/address map for the selected Modbus communication link. The address map includes Modbus function code, Modbus addresses , data types, associated channel descriptors and alarms. It is used to configure external Modbus clients and can also serve as documentation. On EPM-07 and EPM-15, the file is exported directly to USB device. When using a web browser from computer, the export file downloads to the computer Downloads folder.

Note - You can only access this screen if you have the Can access Communications Link permission, to update settings you also need the Can edit Communication Link permission. If you need to access this function and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

To export an address map:

  1. From EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Device I/O - Comms Link:

  2. The Comms Link screen displays:

    From the left-hand pane, select Options - Export Address Map:

  3. The Address map downloaded message displays briefly at the top right corner of the screen.

  4. Note - When using a web browser, the file is saved in the Downloads folder of your PC. From the HMI, it is saved to the USB drive connected to the device.
