Deleting a Modbus Address Map

The Delete Address Map option clears the current auto-generated map definition for the selected Modbus server. A new map is automatically creates from the active configuration the next time you submit changes . This can be useful if configuration changes cause an unacceptable level of map fragmentation, or simply to reorder the map.

Note - You can only access this screen if you have the Can access Communications Link permission, to update settings you also need the Can edit Communication Link permission. If you need to access theis and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

To delete an address map:

  1. From EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Device I/O - Comms Links:

  2. The Comms Links screen displays:

    Select the server with the address map no longer required and select Options - Delete Address Map:

  3. If you are not already in Configuration lock, the Configuration lock screen displays:

    Enter a reason if required and then select Confirm . The system configuration is now locked pending the submission of your update and the Configuration Locked icon displays on the status bar.

    Note - Configuration lock does not affect the operation of the EPM device.

  4. The Delete Address Map screen displays:

    Select either:

    • Cancel to return to the Comms Links screen, or

    • Delete to confirm the removal.

  5. Once deleted, the Address map deleted successfully message displays briefly at the top right corner of the screen.

  6. Note - When your address map is empty, the Register map empty message displays at the top right corner of the screen.
  7. Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

    Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
