Defining and Running a Batch

To define and run a batch from the Batch Summary screen:

1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Batch - Batch Summary:

   

2. The Batch Summary screen displays, select New Batch .

3. The Create New Batch screen displays:

   

   Complete as required:

   • Group Select the group to run the batch on.
   • Batch configuration - Select the type of batch required, only batch configurations for the selected Group display in the list, see Configuring a Batch for details.

4. Complete as required:

   • Batch ID only displays if Batch ID Modifier Type is set to Must Write, enter the reference for this Batch.

   • Fields - The fields attached to the Batch Configuration selected display, complete as appropriate for this Batch. Mandatory fields display in red.

     Tip - If Clear On New is not set within the Batch Configuration this batch is based on, then previous entries are retained, type over them as required. Selecting Clear all fields to delete all the data in the fields may be quicker.

5. Once complete, select either:

   • Save and Start - To start this batch immediately, or

   • Save - To save it to the Batch Summary screen without starting it now.

     Tip - Select Display Saved Batch(es) to list batches created and saved but not yet started.

To define and run a batch from a Group Live View screen:

1. From a Group Live view, select Settings - Batch.

   See Using the Live View for details.

2. The Batch screen displays, select the Batch configuration required:

   

   Note - Only batch configurations for the Group selected are available and only one batch can be run on a Group at a time.
   Tip - If the selected Group already has a batch running, it displays with an option to select Stop or Pause . If you define a new batch without stopping the active batch, the new batch saves and can be accessed and run from the Batch Summary screen.

3. Select either:

   • • Save and Start - To start this batch immediately, or

   • Save - To save it to the Batch Summary screen without starting it now.

     Tip - From the Batch Summary screen, select Display Saved Batch(es) to list batches saved but not yet started.

If you have defined a batch and saved it to run later, or defined a batch from a Group with a batch already running:

1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Batch - Batch Summary:

   

2. Select Display Saved Batch(es) to display batches saved but not yet started.

3. Select the batch required and select Run :
