Viewing or Editing a User from the EPM Data User Interface

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access user management permissions. You can only add or update users or roles if you have the Can manage Roles and/or Can manage Users permission depending on the task you are carrying out. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

There are several reasons you may need to view or update a user's details, including but not restricted to:

  • Releasing a Locked user.

  • Forcing a password update if security breaches are suspected or detected.

  • Adding or removing roles.

To update a user from the EPM Data User Interface:

  1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Settings and Users - Users:

  2. Your list of users displays, select the user required.

Tip - You can use either Search or the available Filters to find the user if required.
  3. The Edit User pane displays to the right-hand side of your screen, use the scroll bar to move down through the screen:

  4. Update the information as required, or select Close to close the Edit User pane.

Note - Username cannot be updated.

If you are not already in Configuration lock, the Configuration lock screen displays:

Enter a reason if required and then select Confirm . The system configuration is now locked pending the submission of your update and the Configuration Locked icon displays on the status bar.

Note - Configuration lock does not affect the operation of the EPM device.
    See Configuration Lock for details.
Tip - The update displays on the Users list but cannot be seen by any other user until the pending changes are reviewed and submitted.
  5. Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
