Unlocking a Local User from the EPM Data User Interface

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access user management permissions. You can only add or update users or roles if you have the Can manage Roles and/or Can manage Users permission depending on the task you are carrying out. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

If a user has entered their password incorrectly a defined number of times their user account is locked:

See Configuring Security Policies for details on setting the maximum login attempts.

To unlock a local user:

  1. From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Settings and Users - Users:

  2. Your list of users displays, select the user required.

    Tip - You can use either Search or the available Filters to find the user if required.
  3. Select the user and the Edit User pane displays to the right of your screen:

  4. From User is locked due to multiple login failures, select Unlock user to unlock the user's account.

  5. The Unlock User Account screen displays:

    Tick Do you want to force the user to reset their password upon next login? if you want the user to reset their password.

  6. Select Unlock user account .

Note - If a user enters their password incorrectly a specified number of times, they are temporarily locked out. They are automatically unlocked and do not need manual unlocking. See Configuring Security Policies for details.

The user should now be able to log in using their old password. If the user has forgotten their password, see Resetting a Password for a User from the EPM Data User Interface for details.
