Moving I/O Modules

Note - You can only access this function if you have the Can access I/O Channels permission. To move a module, you must also have the Can configure permission. If you need to access these functions and do not have permission, please contact your system administrator.

The Move option allows you to move a module to a free slot.

Note - The Move option is only available when there is a free slot. If there is no free or valid slot, the Move option is disabled.

Note - You cannot move modules beyond the device's supported limits - EPM-07 supports nine slots and EPM-15 supports 18 slots.

Tip - A blanking module (BMS) cannot be moved.

When you move a module:

The module and all its channels move together. The source slot becomes empty and the destination slot then shows the moved module.
The modules/channels list and any related parameters update accordingly.
The slot number is updated automatically.

To move an I/O module on a local cluster:

From the EPM Data User Interface screen, select Options - Device I/O - Hardwired I/O:
The Hardwired I/O screen displays, on the module to move, select Options - Move module:
From the available slots, select a new slot to place the module:
If you are not already in Configuration lock, the Configuration lock screen displays:

Enter a reason if required and then select Confirm . The system configuration is now locked pending the submission of your update and the Configuration Locked icon displays on the status bar.

Note - Configuration lock does not affect the operation of the EPM device.

Once complete, select Review pending changes screen to review updates to the configuration, and submit them. See Reviewing and Submitting Changes for details if required.

Note - Reviewing and submitting can be completed in bulk once you have completed all your additions and/or updates.
