Configuring a Repeated Pulse Timer Channel

From the left-hand side of the Timers screen, select Add Timer :

If you are not already in Configuration lock, the Configuration lock screen displays:

Enter a reason if required and then select Confirm . The system configuration is now locked pending the submission of your update and the Configuration Locked icon displays on the status bar.

The Add channel screen displays. From Type, select Repeated Pulse Timer from the available list and then select Add :

From the left-hand side of the Timers screen select the Repeated Pulse Timer channel required:

Complete the configuration as required:

• Descriptor - Defaults to 'Timer n' where 'n' is the next number in sequence from the previous timer. Enter a unique name for this timer to identify it if required (maximum characters 40).

  Note - This is not case sensitive, for example, 'AbC' is regarded as identical to 'abc '.

• Timer Configuration - Select Expand if it does not expand automatically and complete as required:

  • Timer Duration - Select to enter a time for the timer to run for.

    Enter number of days in d, hours in h, minutes in m, seconds in s and milliseconds in ms or use the up and down arrows to set the value. Select Apply , or Cancel to exit:

    

  • Repeat - Select to define how the timer is initiated:

    • Repeat - Timer is a singular occurrence channel that must be triggered manually or automatically based on configured Jobs.

    • Repeat - Timer is initiated manually or automatically based on configured Jobs., see Configuring Jobs for details.

      • Repeat Period - If you select to make a timer repeatable, Repeat Period displays.

        Enter number of days in d, hours in h, minutes in m, seconds in s and milliseconds in ms or use the up and down arrows to set the value. Select Apply , or Cancel to exit:

        

From the left-hand side of the Timers screen select the Repeat Pulse Timer channel required. The Chart and presentation settings section displays on the right-hand side:

From Chart and presentation settings, select Expand if it does not expand automatically and complete as required:

  Update the fields to use for this channel:

  • Time Duration Format - Select the relevant time unit from the available list.

    Tip - The unit selected here displays in the appropriate fields for this channel.

  • Color - Select to choose one of the 56 available colors for this channel:

    

  • Scale & Zone Settings:

    

    To set the chart scale and zoning for this channel:

    • Scale Enable - Tick to enter the type of scale and the number of divisions required:

      • Scale Type - Defaults to Linear, divisions display equally spaced, ideal for uniform measurements:

        • Scale Division Minor - Enter a value, or use the Plus or Minus to set the minor divisions to be included on the chart (1 to 20).

          Note - Scale divisions have no impact on a chart grid, they are only for scale. The grid on the chart is defined by the division settings on the group, see Configuring Groups Settings for details.

        • Scale Division Major - Enter a value, or use the Plus or Minus to set the major divisions to include on the chart (1 to 20).

    • Scale maximum (Unit):

      Enter number of days in d, hours in h, minutes in m, seconds in s and milliseconds in ms or use the up and down arrows to set the value. Select Apply , or Cancel to exit:

      

    • Scale minimum (Unit):

      Enter number of days in d, hours in h, minutes in m, seconds in s and milliseconds in ms or use the up and down arrows to set the value. Select Apply , or Cancel to exit:

      

    • Zone maximum (%) - Enter a value, or use the Plus or Minus to set the percentage offset for the upper limit of the scale and trendline relative to the top of the chart (5 to 100).

    • Zone minimum (%) - Enter a value, or use the Plus or Minus to set the percentage offset for the lower limit of the scale and trend line relative to the bottom of the chart (0 to 95).

      The use of a Zone offsets a scale and its associated trend line relative to a chart's grid. This is useful when displaying multiple trends with similar value ranges, which would otherwise overlap and become indistinguishable. For example, several digital trends switching between 0 and 1 can be difficult to distinguish without defining a Zone.
